IBAN discrimination could be a thing of the past in France 🇫🇷

AcceptmyIBAN created by Wise - and supported by coalition members - have secured a huge win!

The General Directorate for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) and the National Committee for Cashless Payments (CNPS) have declared they will start fining to anyone who discriminates against a non-French bank account.

IBAN discrimination is when a bank or company doesn’t accept your IBAN because it’s not from the same country in which the bank or company is based. Refusing to use a European bank account for transactions in France is discrimination and is now punishable by a fine of up to 75,000 euros for individuals and 375,000 euros for legal entities

We need your help more than ever to ensure IBAN discrimination becomes a thing of the past. French authorities are calling on anyone who's faced IBAN discrimination to report it via “SignalConso” to start handing out fines to the biggest offenders.
